Barring a few exceptions like Aamir Khan's ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and Fox Star Studios' 'Slumdog Millionaire', Bollywood seems to have left behind those glamorous, star-studded red carpet evenings.
While most producers today shy away from hosting premieres since they are costly affairs, it is also true that it may turn out to be an embarrassing event if the film turns out to be dud, like in the case of ‘Drona' and RGV's ‘Aag'.
However, this winter will see a grand comeback of high-profile film premieres with films like Paa, Avatar and 3 Idiots.
The first in the series is the premiere of ‘Paa' hosted by Amitabh Bachchan's AB Corp along with Reliance Big Entertainment on December 3. The guest list apparently boasts of big names like SRK, Aamir, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgan.
Next in line is Fox Star Studios who will be hosting a grand premiere of James Cameron's eagerly awaited ‘Avatar' on December 16th at Imax Wadala. The premiere is expected to be attended by the who's who of Bollywood, just like the one for their previous film ‘Slumdog Millionaire'.
Following that will be Aamir Khan's premiere of 3-Idiots on December 23.
Looks like, Bollywood is going to have a busy time attending film premieres this season.
